Dr. Athanasios Papaioannou is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Digital Industry Technologies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens since 2023. He has 95+ peer-reviewed publications (including 1 book and 17 journal articles) that have received notable recognition from the scientific community with more than 2250 citations.
His main scientific interests include optimal cloud computing resource management, distributed ledger, trust and privacy issues, incentive mechanisms, evaluation and reputation systems, and demand management and flexibility mechanisms. in the smart grid.
He has long-standing experience as a principal investigator, research team leader and participant in the above research areas in over 23 European and nationally funded research projects, and particularly in the area of distributed ledger and cloud computing, such as the NGI Trustchain, NGI Ontochain, IoTFeds and Cloudspaces projects.
