The GAIA‑X Accelerator Closing Event Was Successfully Held
On May 14, the closing event of the “Greek SME Hub GAIA‑X Accelerator” was successfully held, marking the completion of a particularly demanding and significant phase of the project for the Greek business ecosystem.
During the event, the results achieved to date were presented, along with indicative use cases from beneficiary companies and collaborating organizations, showcasing in practice the impact and value of the Accelerator.
The event was honoured by the presence of the Minister of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence, Mr. Dimitris Papastergiou, and the CEO of Information Society S.A., Mr. Stavros Athenidis, as well as prominent representatives from the market, academia, and institutional bodies. Beneficiary teams, mentors, and market professionals also participated, confirming the strong engagement and growing momentum of the ecosystem being developed.
To date, the Accelerator has brought together SMEs, startups, and entrepreneurial teams of different maturity levels and sectors, along with market executives and institutional stakeholders, laying the foundations for collaboration, co‑creation of value, and the next national step towards European data ecosystems.

The event also provided a valuable opportunity for meaningful networking and exchange of experiences among participants, further strengthening collaboration dynamics across the ecosystem.
The closing event confirmed that the ecosystem developed through the GAIA‑X Accelerator constitutes a significant step toward enhancing the participation of Greek enterprises in the European data ecosystem.
The ecosystem that has been created is only the beginning. The next phase lies in data, with the first Greek GAIA‑X Data Spaces already on the horizon.
